Motherhood stories: Expecting mom Cartier Lebatie

Cartier Lebatie Talks Balancing Business, Baby and Her Vision for Motherhood

Sisterhood, meet Cartier Lebatie. The founder of C-Suite Legal and Marketing, she is also the Director of Supreme Queen Global Earth Africa, in association with Mrs Globe SA,  a pageant with an international footprint. The various crowns he wears, from legal, entrepreneurial and marketing, now make space for one more. An expectant mom, she wears the crown of mother! As we chat with women at various stages in their motherhood journeys, we're excited to take a few minutes to share Cartier's experience so far.

What are you hoping for soon after your little one's been born?

Sleep. I'm looking forward to being able to sleep-train her when she is ready...that's what I'm interested in.

How do you plan on implementing self-care once your baby has been born?

The one thing I've noticed being so deeply involved in the pageant industry is that women will rightfully dedicate themselves to being mothers and wives. However, they almost put themselves on the back burner. Learning from what I'm observing, I was Cartier before becoming a wife and mother and have always cared for myself mentally and physically. Fortunately, my mother will stay with me for the first few months after my baby girl is born, and we have nannies. Nails, hair, lashes and Botox are needed.

What have you learned about motherhood from the tribe of women around you?

I've learned from the phenomenal women around me that "Mother knows best." They have demonstrated the importance of trusting your instinct because one child differs from the next and how you parent will differ, and you need to do what's suitable for your child.

What's the generational blessing from your mother that you hope to pass on to your daughter?

Divine prosperity, 100 percent. What goes hand-in-hand with that was that growing up, we had abundant love from my mother. When you have that kind of love, it transfers to every aspect of your life. I believe that kind of love is the undeniable key to divine prosperity in every sense of the word's meaning.

As a business woman, how do you plan on balancing the demands of business with those of parenthood?

I do not shy away from asking for help. I never have, and it will be no different with my child. I know many women feel the need to do everything themselves, and I'm not one of them. I believe in having a tribe of women around you who allow you to be great. I believe in having women around me who will support me in doing the things that make me happy. I'm very blessed to have people around me who allow me to do that. You need help in this life, and nothing is wrong with that.
